In Bloom

I think of flowers blooming in spring but in the high Sierras they may not show their faces until late July. Some are large and showy, others require a closer look. All are incredibly beautiful. Some of these images are from the Texas Hill country—an area resplendent with Bluebonnet and Indian Paintbrush—but my favorite haunt is along the trails of the Carson Pass region in northern California.
